OVERHEAD LINES WORKER - IRELAND
My client is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Lines Worker to join their specialist team. This role is essential for the construction, maintenance, and repair of vital electrical infrastructure. You will work on a variety of power systems, ensuring the integrity and reliability of overhead networks ranging from low voltage to high voltage (up to 35 kV).
Key Responsibilities

Network Construction: Execute the installation and stringing of overhead lines, including conductors, insulators, and associated hardware.

Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections and carry out repairs on faulted or aging sections of the overhead network.

Diagnostics & Fault Location: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify fault locations and technical issues within the power system.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to electrical safety procedures (equivalent to Electrical Safety Group V standards) to ensure a zero-harm environment for yourself and the team.

Renewable Integration: Assist in the connection and maintenance of overhead infrastructure for renewable energy projects, such as photovoltaic (solar) power plants.

Documentation: Perform technical assessments and document maintenance activities to ensure compliance with technical standards.
Candidate Requirements

Technical Experience: Significant experience in medium and high-voltage (MV/HV) electrical systems (0.4 kV to 35 kV).

Jointing & Termination Skills: Proficiency with high-voltage cable terminations and joints, specifically with industry-standard materials like Raychem, Nexans, or Cellpack.

Diagnostic Expertise: Proven ability to perform high-voltage testing, measurements, and equipment diagnostics.

Safety Mindset: A deep understanding of electrical safety clearances and the ability to operate under high-level safety authorizations.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions, demonstrating reliability and technical precision in the field.

Qualifications: A Specialist Diploma in Engineering or a relevant electrical trade qualification is highly preferred.
