Job Title: LV Specification Sales Engineer

Location: South UK/Midlands Sector: Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear, Control Panels, and BEMS Reporting to: Sales Director / Technical Director

Role Overview

My client is seeking a technically astute and commercially driven LV Specification Sales Engineer. In this role, you will be the primary link between their bespoke engineering capabilities and key clients—including consultants, contractors, and end-users. You will be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, influencing technical specifications at the design stage, and securing orders for our custom-built LV Switchboards and Motor Control Centers (MCCs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Specification Influencing: Engage with M&E Consultants and specifiers early in the project lifecycle to ensure they are the "named" or "preferred" manufacturer.

  • Business Development: Proactively identify and track major construction and infrastructure projects across the UK (e.g., Data Centers, Healthcare, Transport).

  • Technical Consultation: Conduct site surveys and technical presentations to explain the advantages of our bespoke CAD-designed solutions and BEMS integration.

  • Tender Management: Work closely with the internal design and estimating teams to produce accurate, competitive, and high-quality technical proposals.

  • Relationship Management: Maintain and expand a CRM database of Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activity, and changes in UK electrical standards (BS EN 61439).

Candidate Requirements

  • Technical Background: A strong foundation in electrical engineering (HNC/HND or Degree preferred) with a deep understanding of LV Switchgear and Control Systems.

  • Sales Experience: Proven track record in technical sales or business development within the UK electrical manufacturing or contracting sector.

  • Communication: Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into "value-add" propositions for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Autonomy: A self-starter capable of managing their own diary and territory while maintaining high activity levels.

  • Tools: Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD/BIM software is a distinct advantage.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: Highly competitive base salary plus a performance-linked bonus structure.

  • Company Vehicle: High-spec company car or generous car allowance.

  • Professional Growth: Opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most prestigious infrastructure projects.

  • Culture: Join a long-standing, supportive team in a modern facility with a "people-first" approach to management.
