Regional Engineer – High Voltage Motors & Generators

This Role Isn’t for Everyone

We’re looking for a senior-level engineer who already knows this space—someone who has spent years deep in motor repair, rewind, and diagnostics and is ready to step into a regional technical leadership role.

If your experience is surface-level or heavily theoretical, this won’t be a fit.
If you’ve built your career solving real-world failures in the field and shop, keep reading.

What you'll be doing

  • Technical leadership across multiple service centers in the LA  / Southwest Region
  • Standardization of repair practices, procedures, and engineering specifications
  • Oversight of complex motor and generator repairs (AC/DC, high voltage)
  • Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and field support
  • Training and upskilling of technicians and engineering teams
  • Ensuring compliance with IEEE, NEMA, API, and other key standards
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational consistency
  • Evaluating new technologies and identifying opportunities for growth

What we're looking for from you:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience with AC/DC motors and generators
  • Deep expertise in motor repair, rewind, and failure analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of high-voltage systems and testing (PD, Hipot, EL-Cid, etc.)
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards, NEMA MG-1, and API 541/547
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical issues
  • Experience working across multiple sites or regions
  • Willingness to travel and be present where problems need solving

What Sets You Apart

  • You’ve led technical decisions, not just followed procedures
  • You can walk into a failing operation and quickly identify what’s broken
  • You’re comfortable pushing standards, improving processes, and holding teams accountable
  • You combine hands-on credibility with engineering judgment

What's in it for you?

  • Highly Competitive base salary + performance bonus
  • Clear authority to influence technical standards and direction
  • Exposure to complex, high-value equipment and critical infrastructure
  • Career growth into broader engineering or operational leadership roles

Location

Remote, with expectation to be based near Los Angeles, CA and support the Southwest region.
