Aircraft Seating Technician – Avionics

We are looking for an Aircraft Seating Technician – Avionics to join our growing team. This role combines expertise in aircraft seating systems and integrated avionics. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced seating technologies, including in-seat power systems, IFE (In-Flight Entertainment), seat actuators, sensors, and electronic control modules.

Working within a leading Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) provider, you will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with international aviation safety standards and OEM specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft seating systems and associated avionics components.

  • Troubleshoot and fault-find on electronic seat controls, IFE wiring, and in-seat power systems.

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals.

  • Modify or upgrade seat electronic systems in line with service bulletins and customer requirements.

  • Conduct continuity checks and functional testing of seat electronics using appropriate test equipment.

  • Work with mechanical seat systems including actuators, recliners, and seat track fittings.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Document all work performed in accordance with FAA/EASA and company standards.

  • Maintain safe working practices in aircraft cabins, hangars, and workshop environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in avionics or aircraft interiors (seating systems experience preferred).

  • Technical certification in avionics, aircraft maintenance, or related discipline desirable.

  • FAA A&P or EASA Part-66 license advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Strong understanding of electrical/avionics systems and ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

  • Familiarity with seat OEMs such as Recaro, B/E Aerospace, Zodiac, or Collins Aerospace.

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, multimeters, and avionics testing equipment.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Based in MRO workshops, hangars, and onboard aircraft.

  • May involve shift work, weekends, or holiday coverage.

  • Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and following strict safety standards.
