HSEQ & Compliance Manager – High Voltage & Energy Solutions
 

We are partnering with a market-leading High Voltage & Energy Solutions provider delivering critical grid connections, primary/secondary substations, and turnkey energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

Driven by significant expansion and an ambitious pipeline of works, they are looking for a high-caliber HSEQ & Compliance Manager to lead, develop, and drive safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across all operations and site projects.

The Role

As the HSEQ & Compliance Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for embedding a progressive safety culture and ensuring strict regulatory compliance across complex engineering and high-voltage construction sites.

You will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, site engineers, and external accreditation bodies to manage integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and maintain industry safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, improve, and audit the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

  • Drive site safety compliance across active HV substation, grid connection, and balance of plant construction projects.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive action plans.

  • Prepare, review, and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for high-risk HV site work.

  • Manage client pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), tender submissions, and industry accreditations (e.g., CHAS, SafeContractor, Achilles UVDB).

  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and safety briefings across UK project sites.

  • Interface with external regulators, DNOs, IDNOs, and client safety teams to ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and Safety Rules.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as an HSEQ / Sheq Manager within High Voltage (HV), Electrical Utilities, Power Distribution, or Civil Engineering.

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Diploma level preferred).

  • GradIOSH or CMIOSH status (or actively working towards).

  • Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and UK Health & Safety legislation in a high-voltage or construction environment.

  • Internal Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001.

  • Full UK Driving License (site travel required).
