Flight Operations Officer

Position Summary

We are looking for an organised and proactive Flight Operations Officer to support the day-to-day coordination of flight and training activities within an innovative aviation environment.

This is a varied operations role that sits between front-line teams and senior leadership, helping ensure operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures. You'll work across flight operations, simulator activities, training, and operational planning while supporting continuous improvement and high operational standards.

This role would suit someone with previous aviation operations experience who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping complex operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate daily flight and training activities to ensure operations run efficiently.

  • Assist with planning schedules for crews, instructors, simulators, and operational resources.

  • Act as a point of contact for operational queries and help resolve day-to-day issues.

  • Support resource planning across operational and training activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the operation.

  • Help ensure activities are carried out in line with company procedures and relevant aviation regulations.

  • Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous safety improvements.

  • Escalate operational or safety concerns when required.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with flight crews, instructors, engineering, maintenance, and support teams.

  • Build strong relationships across departments to maintain effective communication.

  • Provide day-to-day support to operational staff and contribute to a collaborative working environment.

Standards & Quality

  • Support consistent operational and training standards.

  • Assist with maintaining operational documentation and records.

  • Contribute to internal audits and quality assurance activities.

  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest improvements to operational processes and procedures.

  • Assist with implementing new systems, procedures, and training initiatives.

  • Capture operational feedback to help improve future planning and delivery.

Reporting

  • Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, and reports.

  • Provide updates on operational performance and key activities to management.

About You

We're open to candidates from a range of aviation backgrounds. You don't need to meet every requirement, but you'll ideally have:

  • Experience within flight operations, aviation training, or a similar operational environment.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • A good understanding of aviation operations and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience coordinating teams or operational activities would be beneficial.

  • Knowledge of simulator operations, remotely piloted aircraft, or emerging aviation technologies would be an advantage, but is not essential
