VHR is partnering with a leading Middle Eastern airline operator to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager - CAMO. Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Services, this is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational management of the airline's Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) function across a Boeing fleet.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an accomplished aviation professional with extensive airline experience and a proven track record in senior engineering and airworthiness leadership positions.
The Opportunity
As Engineering Manager - CAMO, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of the airline's Boeing fleet. You will lead a team of engineering professionals and work closely with maintenance providers, OEMs, lessors, and aviation authorities to deliver best-in-class engineering support and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all CAMO activities to ensure regulatory compliance and fleet airworthiness.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that support operational excellence and fleet reliability.
- Oversee aircraft maintenance programmes, maintenance planning, reliability programmes, defect management, engineering records, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation authority regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Act as the primary focal point for continuing airworthiness matters with regulatory authorities, OEMs, lessors, and external maintenance organisations.
- Monitor fleet technical performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to engineering and airworthiness personnel.
- Support aircraft induction, lease transitions, major modifications, and fleet expansion projects as required.
- Manage departmental budgets, performance metrics, and resource planning.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business objectives, safety initiatives, and long-term technical strategy.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Significant experience within a commercial airline environment.
- Proven experience in a senior CAMO, Continuing Airworthiness, Engineering Management, or Technical Services leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of Boeing aircraft operations and continuing airworthiness requirements.
- Extensive understanding of airline maintenance programmes, reliability systems, and engineering processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams within a highly regulated aviation environment.
- Experience liaising with aviation regulatory authorities, OEMs, MROs, and lessors.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Ability to make effective operational and strategic decisions in a fast-paced airline environment.
Desirable
- Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- EASA Part-66 Licence and/or relevant engineering qualifications.
- Previous experience working within the Middle East region.
- Experience supporting fleet growth, aircraft transitions, or entry-into-service programmes.
- Additional leadership or management qualifications.
