Engineering Manager – Infrastructure & DevSecOps
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Infrastructure & DevSecOps to lead the design, implementation and management of secure engineering infrastructure and DevSecOps capabilities supporting the delivery of safety-critical software.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll take ownership of CI/CD pipelines, source control governance, build infrastructure and secure software development practices while leading a small team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using pipeline-as-code.
- Manage source control governance, including repository policies, branch protection, code signing and access controls.
- Oversee engineering build infrastructure, ensuring performance, resilience and scalability.
- Embed secure development lifecycle practices, including SAST, SCA, SBOM generation and signed artefacts.
- Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Safety and Certification teams to ensure tools and processes meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Manage engineering developer toolsets, including Atlassian applications, using Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
About You
You're a technically strong DevSecOps leader who enjoys building secure, automated engineering environments. You have extensive experience delivering CI/CD solutions within regulated industries and thrive in hands-on roles where you can influence engineering best practice while mentoring a growing team.
Essential Requirements
- 12+ years' experience in DevSecOps, engineering infrastructure and CI/CD.
- Proven hands-on experience designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing secure software development lifecycle practices within regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, medical devices or financial services.
- Experience managing source control governance across large engineering teams.
- Ability to build, secure and optimise engineering build infrastructure.
Desirable
- Experience with tool qualification or working in certification-driven environments.
- Knowledge of airworthiness or regulated software assurance standards.
- Experience establishing greenfield engineering infrastructure.
- Administration of Atlassian products at enterprise scale.
