Electrical Engineer – Cambridge

Electrical Engineer required to work for a leading Cambridge-based food manufacturing company.

This is an excellent opportunity based in Cambridge to join an established food manufacturing business, whilst being rewarded with a competitive package, day shifts and excellent additional earning potential through the on-call rota.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an Electrical Engineer, performing various tasks including:

  • Carrying out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on production and manufacturing equipment.
  • Supporting production to minimise downtime and maintain efficient operations.
  • Fault finding on electrical control systems, machinery, motors, sensors and associated equipment.
  • Working with PLCs and industrial control systems.
  • Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work is accurately documented.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
  • Working closely with the production and engineering teams.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures.
  • Participating in a 1 week in 3 on-call rota, with excellent additional call-out bonuses available.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or food production environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota.

Desirable Requirements

  • Electrical engineering qualification or recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience working with PLCs and control systems.
  • Experience with sensors, motors and industrial automation.
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Multi-skilled mechanical maintenance experience.

Additional Information

  • Immediate start / available as soon as possible.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
  • 1 week in 3 on-call rota.
