Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Avionics Manager to lead avionics maintenance operations within a large, high-volume MRO environment in the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing avionics teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing base and heavy aircraft maintenance activities, with a strong focus on Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft platforms.
This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise, strong people management skills, and proven experience in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient avionics maintenance operations.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop avionics maintenance teams, including supervisors, certifying staff, and technicians.
- Plan manpower allocation to support base and heavy maintenance inputs.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Manage avionics maintenance activities during base maintenance checks (C-checks, structural checks, heavy maintenance inputs).
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with approved data, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
- Oversee troubleshooting, repair, modification, and installation of avionics systems.
- Coordinate with planning, production, engineering, quality, and supply chain departments to ensure efficient workflow and aircraft delivery.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations (EASA, FAA, GCAA, or relevant authority).
- Ensure proper documentation, certification, and release to service of aircraft and avionics systems.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as required.
- Maintain adherence to MOE, safety management system (SMS), and quality procedures.
- Monitor maintenance progress, productivity, and KPIs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Support AOG recovery efforts when required.
- Ensure proper tooling, equipment, and test benches are available and maintained.
Education & Certifications
- Degree or Diploma in Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- EASA Part-66 License (B2) or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Human Factors, EWIS, and Fuel Tank Safety certifications preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of avionics maintenance experience in a large MRO or airline environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Mandatory experience working on Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft (e.g., B737, B777, B787, A320 Family, A330, A350).
- Proven experience managing base maintenance and heavy maintenance operations.
- Experience working within a large, high-volume MRO facility.
