Job Title: Aircraft Seat Painter

Job Summary
The Aircraft Seat Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing aircraft seating components to meet airworthiness, cosmetic, and safety standards. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to aviation industry procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare seating components through cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.

  • Mix and apply primers, topcoats, and coatings per manufacturer specifications.

  • Use spray guns and related equipment to ensure even, professional finishes.

  • Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Follow work orders, technical data sheets, and standard procedures.

  • Handle, store, and dispose of paints and hazardous materials safely.

  • Maintain tools and spray equipment in operational condition.

  • Report defects or rework requirements promptly.

  • Collaborate with other departments to meet project deadlines.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of painting experience (automotive, industrial, or aerospace preferred).

  • Knowledge of painting techniques, material handling, and surface preparation.

  • Ability to read technical documents and safety data sheets.

  • Strong focus on quality and detail.

  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Preferred

  • Experience in FAA-regulated environments.

  • Certification in spray painting or surface preparation.

  • Familiarity with polyurethane, epoxy, and waterborne paint systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working with paints, solvents, and in spray booths.

  • Must wear PPE, including respirators.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced hangar or workshop.

  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and airborne particles.

  • May require overtime or shift work.
