A leading organization in the Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will play a vital part in ensuring workplace safety, compliance, and sustainability across operations.

Job Purpose

The OHS Engineer will report directly to the Safety Manager and oversee health & safety programs, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. The role includes hazard identification, risk assessments, training delivery, policy updates, and proactive safety initiatives to prevent incidents and support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update OHS policies, processes, and procedures in line with regulations and best practices.

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures.

  • Deliver training programs to employees on OHS practices.

  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct structured risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with departments to resolve recurring or complex safety issues.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and organizational safety standards.

  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports on safety performance.

  • Participate in environmental programs including energy and water conservation and waste management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in OHS or a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Accredited OHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001).

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within aviation or technical industries.

  • Strong knowledge of OHS regulations and Safety Management Systems.

  • Proven experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
