Head of Quality

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality to lead and develop the Quality Management System for an innovative aerospace manufacturer developing next-generation electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering programme that is helping shape the future of sustainable aviation.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for ensuring products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems meet the highest industry and regulatory standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive quality excellence across production, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations and internationally recognised quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and inspection processes.
  • Lead internal and external audits and support regulatory approvals and compliance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and production operations.
  • Manage quality assurance, quality control, and inspection activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Oversee non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Programme teams to ensure product conformity and manufacturing excellence.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and production records.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team while promoting a strong quality culture across the organisation.

About You

You are an experienced quality leader with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, aviation, defence, or another highly regulated industry. You have a passion for driving quality excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading high-performing teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience leading Quality within an aerospace, aviation, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Experience leading audits, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a Production Organisation Approval (POA) or equivalent regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of EASA, FAA, or GCAA regulatory requirements.
  • Professional quality certifications or aviation maintenance qualifications would be advantageous.
