Operations Lead – Airframe & Paint required to work for a leading aviation MRO organisation.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an Operations Lead – Airframe & Paint, performing various tasks including:

  • Leading and coordinating daily Airframe and Paint maintenance operations.
  • Managing aircraft structural repairs, sheet metal work, composite repairs and aircraft painting activities.
  • Planning and allocating manpower to ensure maintenance schedules are achieved.
  • Ensuring compliance with EASA, FAA, military and company regulatory requirements.
  • Working closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Monitoring productivity, turnaround times, labour utilisation and quality performance.
  • Leading daily operational and safety briefings.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring environmental compliance.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of tools, equipment and paint facilities.
  • Supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing maintenance personnel.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensuring accurate recording of labour, materials and completed maintenance activities.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience within aircraft airframe structural repair and aircraft paint operations.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, composite repairs and aircraft paint systems.
  • Good understanding of aviation maintenance regulations including EASA, FAA or military standards.
  • Experience planning and leading maintenance teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within a large MRO or military aviation environment.
  • Experience using maintenance management systems such as AMOS, IFS or TRAX.
  • Knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane and military specification paint systems.
  • Previous experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) English qualification.
