Job Title: Lead B1 Certifying Engineer – CAT C
Job Purpose
Leads the assigned team of B1 Engineers ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of aircraft. In addition, performs duties of B1 Certifying Engineer and Category C to ensure that maintenance tasks on the airline and third-party aircraft, including inspections, repairs, and component replacement, are performed in accordance with the Airline and regulatory requirements.Decision Making Parameters

Expected to make decisions and apply judgment on related issues frequently. Consults with the line manager on non-routine actions prior to execution; all duties shall be performed through the proper channels and in compliance with the adopted policies and procedures.Key Result Responsibilities
Category C Authorization & Team Leadership- Verify that maintenance tasks have been carried out to the required standard by the respective Certifying Engineers.
- Distribute and allocate maintenance tasks to B1 Engineers & Lead Technicians to ensure completion within assigned timelines and in compliance with airline and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor progress and manage performance of assigned B1 Engineers on shift against the assigned planned tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Provide proper guidance to Base Maintenance Engineers and Lead Technicians to assist them in carrying out assigned maintenance tasks such as troubleshooting needed to identify and resolve defects.
- Provide regular feedback to the Shift Manager on the performance and development of B1 Engineers & Technicians.
- Escalate any concerns and issues related to assigned B1 maintenance tasks and suggest corrective measures to the Shift Managers.
- Initiate and implement cost-saving projects within the B1 scope.
- Develop the skills of B1 Technicians & Engineers to their full potential and orient new joiners into the team.
- Manage human factors aspects of maintenance for the assigned shift, ensuring continuity of critical maintenance tasks through avoidance of task interruption and proper handover procedures.
- Maintain awareness of the cost of aircraft maintenance, including time and materials usage. Minimize unnecessary waste of consumables and avoid duplication of work to reduce repair costs.
- Prepare and perform scheduled aircraft maintenance according to assigned task cards, ensuring that required documentation, parts, tools, and GSE are obtained and used per issued instructions.
- Review assigned task cards with the Shift Manager to gain full understanding of the work, priorities, documentation requirements, and cautions prior to starting work.
- Carry out aircraft tests and inspections to the standard necessary to fully identify and record defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- Perform defect troubleshooting and rectification in accordance with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and instructions provided by the Engineering Department.
- Sign off maintenance tasks performed or supervised within the scope of own authorization, verifying that task cards and associated documents have been completed to the required standard.
- Manage communications with other Engineers and Technicians related to assigned tasks, ensuring proper coordination, continuity, and handover of work.
- Take necessary steps to ensure safety of self and others, including the use of proper GSE and protective equipment.
- Ensure adherence to all safety measures, maintenance procedures, and regulations when performing or assigning maintenance work on aircraft.

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)
- Holds/has held an EASA Part 66 or GCAA CAR 66 B1 Aircraft Maintenance License (unrestricted) and company maintenance approvals on the Airbus A320/A321, with 2+ years of experience.- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lead and guide a team of Aircraft Engineers & Technicians.
- Category C Authorization.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Work Experience
- 2+ years’ experience as a B1 Engineer in Base or Hangar Maintenance, including at least 1 year in a team leading capacity with Category C authorization experience.- Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of B1 maintenance practices and GCAA standards.
