Our client is seeking a Cost Analyst to join their aviation operations team at Engineering Centre in Rome. This is a high-impact role at the core of a fast-paced MRO environment, where financial insight directly drives operational performance, efficiency, and profitability.
✈️ About the Role
You’ll play a key part in delivering cost transparency and inventory accuracy across engine maintenance, repair, and exchange operations.
Working closely with operations, engineering, procurement, and finance, you’ll help ensure data integrity across ERP systems and support smarter, faster decision-making across the business.
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
- Own cost-per-engine and cost-per-module reporting, including ERP-based work order closeouts (Quantum)
- Analyse and validate labour, materials, and repair costs across the full maintenance lifecycle
- Identify cost drivers, variances, and opportunities for efficiency improvement
- Manage and improve aviation inventory tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Build and maintain KPIs including inventory turnover, cost per hour, and performance trends
- Partner cross-functionally to support operational and financial optimisation
- Support system integration initiatives (including Palantir and ERP tools)
🎯 What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in cost analysis and/or inventory management
- Strong aviation or MRO background preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory/cost modules
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Fluent English and Italian (written and spoken)
- Strong attention to detail and confident communicator
- Understanding of aviation maintenance and materials processes
⭐ Nice to Have
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) experience
- Knowledge of engine/module costing and repair vs replace analysis
- SQL skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally to our client’s international locations (North America)
