Job Summary
The Aircraft Seating Technician - Electrical is responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, modification and functional testing of premium aircraft seating and cabin interior systems, including their mechanical and electrical components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing and disposition of components and accessories installed on premium aircraft seating and cabin interiors.
- Install, remove and retrofit complete aircraft seat units on floor tracks or base frames in accordance with approved technical instructions.
- Carry out mechanical assembly, fastening, bolting and precision torque tightening of seat structures, fittings and hardware.
- Inspect, maintain and repair electrically operated premium seating systems, including seat controls, motors, actuators, switches, sensors and control modules.
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical seat controls, in-seat power supplies, USB ports, lighting and entertainment-related seat wiring.
- Inspect, repair or replace wiring, cables, connectors, plugs and harnesses associated with aircraft seating systems.
- Perform continuity, voltage, resistance and functional checks using multimeters and other approved electrical test equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals and technical instructions.
- Carry out approved seat modifications, upgrades and retrofits in accordance with service bulletins, engineering orders and customer requirements.
- Complete operational and functional testing after installation or repair to confirm that all mechanical and electrical seat functions operate correctly.
- Record completed work accurately and comply with all applicable quality, safety, OEM and company procedures.
- Minimum three years of paid, hands-on experience working on aircraft seating systems.
- Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair of aircraft seats is essential.
- Experience with premium First Class, Business Class or equivalent electrically operated seating is preferred.
- Strong understanding of aircraft seat mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and use multimeters and other electrical testing equipment confidently.
- Must be currently available in the UAE and able to join immediately.
- Willing to work on a short-term contract and rotating shifts, including weekends or holidays when required.
- Work may be performed in aircraft cabins, hangars or workshop environments.
- Must be able to work safely in confined spaces and comply with PPE and workplace safety requirements at all times.
