Position Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) is responsible for performing and certifying line maintenance activities on De Havilland Dash 8‑100, 200, and 300 aircraft. This role includes operational travel as a Flying AME, providing technical support at outstations and remote locations. All maintenance and certification activities must be completed strictly in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, approved maintenance data, and company procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform line maintenance including transit, daily, and pre‑departure inspections
  • Troubleshoot and rectify aircraft defects in a time‑critical operational environment
  • Carry out component replacements and operational checks
  • Apply and manage MEL procedures as required
  • Certify all maintenance work in accordance with Transport Canada regulations
  • Travel with aircraft as a Flying AME to support operations at outstations
  • Provide technical support to flight crews during operational disruptions and AOG events
  • Complete and certify aircraft technical records, logbooks, and maintenance documentation
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • AMO procedures
    • Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM)
    • Minimum Equipment List (MEL)
    • Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC)
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid Transport Canada AME M2 License (mandatory)
  • Proven experience in line maintenance operations
  • Experience on Dash 8‑100 / 200 / 300 aircraft preferred
  • Previous Flying AME or outstation support experience considered an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and independent decision‑making capability
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Technical Knowledge

  • PW120 / PW121 / PW123 engines (as applicable)
  • Propeller systems (Hamilton Sundstrand)
  • Aircraft systems including:
    • Flight controls and rigging
    • Landing gear and brakes
    • Hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems

Working Conditions

  • Line maintenance operational environment
  • Frequent travel, including flying with the aircraft
  • Shift work (days, nights, weekends, holidays)

  • Work in varied climates and remote locations
