Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) – Bell 205 Helicopter

Position Summary:
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) is responsible for performing aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and certification of Bell 205 helicopters in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, approved maintenance data, company procedures, and industry safety standards. The AME M2 supports safe and reliable aircraft operations in both hangar and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Bell 205 helicopters.

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, defect rectification, component changes, and aircraft maintenance tasks.

  • Troubleshoot and repair helicopter mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, flight control, and rotor systems.

  • Perform maintenance on Bell 205 systems including:

    Main rotor and tail rotor systems
    • Main transmission and drive systems

    • Flight control systems

    • Hydraulic and electrical systems

    • Fuel, oil, and lubrication systems

    • Airframe structures and landing/skid systems

  • Complete maintenance activities using approved technical publications, maintenance manuals, and regulatory requirements.

  • Inspect aircraft components and systems to ensure continued airworthiness.

  • Maintain accurate aircraft technical records, journey logs, maintenance releases, and inspection documentation.

  • Support aircraft operations in remote and field environments as required.

  • Assist with aircraft preparation, operational readiness, and troubleshooting during missions.

  • Ensure all maintenance work meets company quality standards and Transport Canada requirements.

  • Follow company safety procedures and actively participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Transport Canada AME M2 licence.

  • Experience maintaining Bell 205 helicopters preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of helicopter maintenance procedures and aviation regulations.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of helicopter systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic operational environment and support field assignments.

Preferred Assets:

  • Bell 205/UH-1 maintenance experience.

  • PT6T Twin-Pac engine experience.

  • Previous experience in utility helicopter operations.

  • Experience supporting remote operations, external load, forestry, firefighting, or similar helicopter missions.

  • Human Factors and Safety Management System (SMS) training.
