Our client are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Sales and Business Development Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. This is a critical role focused on driving the sale of our high-quality power and distribution transformers into two of the most dynamic and essential markets: Utilities (Transmission & Distribution) and Data Centres.

What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Growth: Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to significantly grow market share for our clients transformer portfolio within the Utilities and Data Centre segments.

  • New Business Development: Aggressively prospect, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across large-scale utility projects and major data centre developers/operators.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives, procurement teams, consulting engineers, and EPC contractors.

  • Technical Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert, presenting our transformer solutions (e.g., liquid-filled, dry-type, high-efficiency/low-loss units) and providing technical guidance to align with specific project requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Bid Management: Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to negotiation and contract closing, including the preparation of detailed proposals, tenders, and commercial agreements.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and technological advancements (e.g., in renewable integration, grid modernization, or high-density computing) to inform and adapt our sales approach.

What You'll Need: Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven Sales Experience: 5+ years in a BDM or similar technical sales role within the electrical equipment manufacturing or infrastructure sector.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep, demonstrable experience selling transformers (or related high-voltage/medium-voltage equipment like switchgear, protection relays) into the Utilities and/or Data Centre markets is non-negotiable.

  • Technical Acumen: A strong technical understanding of power distribution, electrical engineering principles, and the specific application of transformers in both grid and mission-critical environments.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Commercial Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with a track record of meeting and exceeding challenging sales targets.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently across the defined sales territory.
