Overview:
We are seeking an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer type-rated on the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) to join our client's Base Maintenance team in the UK. This is a contract opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking to work within a busy maintenance facility performing heavy checks and modifications on commercial aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled base maintenance, including heavy checks, structural repairs, and component changes, on Boeing 737NG aircraft.
- Carry out troubleshooting, defect rectification, and functional testing.
- Certify maintenance tasks within the scope of company authorisation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with UK CAA Part-145 regulations and company procedures.
- Accurately complete all associated maintenance documentation and job cards.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and professionalism at all times.
- Supervise and support unlicensed engineers and technicians as required.
- Liaise with planning, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient workflow.
Requirements:
- UK CAA Part-66 B1.1 Licence (EASA licence holders with right to work in UK may be considered).
- Type Rating: Boeing 737NG (CFM56) - current and recent experience essential.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a certifying B1 Engineer in base or heavy maintenance.
- Valid Human Factors, EWIS, and Fuel Tank Safety certificates.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressure maintenance environment.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Willing to work shifts, nights, and overtime when required.
Desirable:
- Experience on additional types (e.g., 737 MAX, A320 family).
- Familiarity with AMOS, TRAX, or other MRO IT systems.
- Previous experience working with UK MROs or airline maintenance bases.
