Aviation SMS - Part 145 Maintenance Operations
Location: Saudi Arabia - Assigned Base
Reporting to: VP of Technical Operations
We're seeking a passionate SMS Part 145 Safety Director with extensive experience in Safety Management Systems (SMS) to take the lead on safety and risk management for operations under a Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate. This is a high-impact role for someone ready to shape and drive safety culture across technical operations, contributing directly to a world-class maintenance operation.
The Role:
As the SMS Director Part 145 , you'll be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the performance of the Safety Management System and related assurance programs. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with regulatory compliance, customer expectations, and the organization's mission of operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of SMS within Part 145 operations
- Conduct regular safety and quality audits in collaboration with the Quality team
- Facilitate proactive hazard identification and risk assessments across all technical domains
- Manage and resolve safety reports, ensuring thorough investigation and documented outcomes
- Develop Safety Cases and implement risk controls to enhance operational safety
- Maintain and update the organization's Hazard/Risk Register
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and corrective actions
- Champion the development and delivery of safety promotion programs
- Drive SMS performance reporting and present actionable insights to senior leadership
- Participate in leadership and safety meetings to evaluate SMS adequacy
- Collaborate with other safety professionals across the organization

Who We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Certified in Safety Management Systems and Aviation Auditing
- Aircraft accident investigation training (preferred)
- Aviation Human Factors training (a plus)
Experience:
- Minimum 9 years in aviation, including 3 years in a leadership role
- At least 3 years in aviation safety within similar operational environments
- Licensed aircraft maintenance experience (B1 or B2) is advantageous
- Deep understanding of aviation risk management principles and regulatory frameworks (GACARs, FAA, EASA)

- Proficient in MS Office and adaptable to aviation-specific IT systems
