Check Manager
Full time based in the Middle East - not UAESalary + Accommodation + transportation + Visa + Medical for expats
We are supporting a leading aviation maintenance organisation in the appointment of an experienced Check Manager to oversee heavy base maintenance inputs on widebody Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of C-Checks and D-Checks, ensuring aircraft are completed on time, within budget, and fully compliant with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
The Check Manager acts as the focal point between production, planning, quality, engineering, supply chain, and the customer throughout the maintenance input.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Production Delivery

Manage and control heavy maintenance inputs on widebody aircraft (Boeing & Airbus)
-
Lead C-Checks, heavy C-Checks, and D-Checks from induction through to redelivery
-
Ensure workscopes are executed in line with AMP, SBs, ADs, and customer requirements
-
Monitor progress against the check plan, milestones, and critical path activities
Leadership & Team Management
-
Provide strong day-to-day leadership to production teams, supervisors, and shift managers
-
Coordinate licensed engineers, mechanics, avionics, structures, and support functions
-
Drive a safety-first, compliance-led, and performance-driven culture on the hangar floor
-
Manage shift handovers, manpower allocation, and overtime requirements
Technical & Regulatory Oversight
-
Ensure full compliance with Part 145, MOE, and applicable aviation authority requirements
-
Act as senior technical authority during the check input
-
Support defect troubleshooting, escalation, and technical decision-making
-
Liaise with Quality and Engineering on findings, concessions, and rectifications
Planning, Cost & Customer Interface

Work closely with Planning to manage work packages, findings, and additional tasks
-
Control check costs, man-hours, and productivity targets
-
Act as primary interface with the customer during the maintenance input

Provide regular progress updates, technical briefings, and delivery forecasts
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve check flow, productivity, and cost efficiency
-
Support post-check reviews and lessons-learned activities
-
Contribute to operational excellence and best-practice initiative
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
-
Proven experience as a Check Manager, Production Manager, or Senior Base Maintenance Manager
-
Extensive heavy maintenance experience on widebody aircraft
-
Strong working knowledge of both Boeing and Airbus fleets
-
Background within an airline or MRO Part 145 environment
-
Demonstrated experience managing large teams and complex checks
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
-
Excellent understanding of heavy maintenance workscopes and check planning
-
Strong knowledge of Part 145 regulations and compliance requirements
-
Ability to interpret AMM, SRM, IPC, SBs, and ADs
-
Licensed background (B1/B2) desirable but not essential
