Our client is a leading supplier of a wide range of diesel generators, AC & DC industrial UPS and commercial UPS systems, to bespoke generator sets and are looking to recruit an Applications Engineer to add to their team for UPS products and solutions.
The Applications Engineer (UPS) supports the Sales team by developing accurate, well-costed technical solutions that meet customer requirements. The role combines technical expertise, commercial awareness, and collaboration, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality UPS and generator proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements and specifications into fully costed technical proposals, including commercial offers, technical specifications, and data sheets.
- Prepare detailed cost and price make-ups (CMU/PMU) to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimised project profitability.
- Support the Sales team during client negotiations by providing technical input on pricing, specifications, and commercial terms in line with business guidelines.
- Undertake tendering activities, including site surveys and client meetings, and ensure effective handover of successful orders to Contracts, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in a suitable engineering discipline.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
