Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced AUV/UUV Sales Engineer to drive growth in the autonomous and unmanned underwater vehicle market. You will be responsible for selling advanced sonar systems designed for integration into AUVs and UUVs, working closely with defense primes, manufacturers, and research institutions. This role requires deep industry knowledge, technical expertise, and the ability to manage the full sales cycle-from opportunity development to program capture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Development: Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the AUV/UUV ecosystem, including defense contractors, integrators, and academia.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute segment-specific strategies aligned with corporate objectives and product development roadmaps.
  • Customer Management: Build and manage strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work with engineering teams to translate customer needs into tailored sonar solutions.
  • Industry Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, symposiums, and customer meetings to enhance visibility and gather market intelligence.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, pipeline management, and sales forecasting using CRM tools.

Role Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Science, Oceanography, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record selling high-value technical systems in the defense, sonar, or marine technology sectors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of AUV/UUV systems, subsea mission profiles, and sonar technologies (e.g., side-scan, multibeam).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to articulate technical concepts in terms of customer value.
  • Other: U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling to defense contractors and AUV manufacturers.
  • Background in naval operations (undersea warfare, mine countermeasures, or EOD).
  • Established professional network within the unmanned maritime systems community (defense and commercial).
  • Demonstrated success in sales and program capture.
