CNC Machinist – Night Shift (Motorsport Precision Engineering)
CNC Machinist (Night Shift) required to work for a leading precision engineering organisation making key contributions to the motorsport and Formula 1 industry.
This is an excellent opportunity based in West Sussex to join a highly regarded motorsport-focused engineering business, working on complex, high-precision components while benefiting from a competitive hourly rate, shift allowance, and overtime.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as a CNC Machinist, performing various tasks including:

Setting up and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture high-precision components

Programming, editing, and optimising machining processes using Heidenhain controls

Machining complex parts using 5-axis CNC machines

Working with advanced materials, including carbon fibre, for motorsport and F1 applications

Carrying out quality inspections to ensure components meet tight tolerances and specifications

Collaborating with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and improve machining processes

Using offline CAM programming, with a strong preference for Visi / Vero software

Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment in line with health and safety standards
Mandatory Requirements

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist

Strong experience in CNC milling and 5-axis machining

Proficiency in programming and operating machines using Heidenhain controls

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

Proven experience with offline CAM programming (Visi / Vero highly preferred)

High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
Desirable Requirements

Experience machining motorsport or Formula 1 components

Experience working with carbon fibre or advanced composite materials

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Previous experience working night shifts
Additional Information

Night shift role – 40 hours per week
-
Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Shift start times between 4:30pm and 8:00am

Hourly rate: £18–£20 per hour + £5 per hour shift allowance

20 days annual leave

Overtime paid at 1.5x the standard rate
