Location: Netherlands (Field-based / Regional coverage)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Industry: Critical Power Infrastructure / Data Centres / Industrial Automation

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a premier global OEM and recognized leader in critical power supply, power control, and energy management solutions. Operating at the forefront of low-voltage power availability and quality, our client designs and manufactures state-of-the-art Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, energy storage solutions, and power switching technologies.

Due to continuous growth across key European markets, we are seeking an experienced UPS Field Service Engineer to join their established Dutch engineering team. In this role, you will be the technical expert delivering commissioning, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and emergency response for high-spec critical power equipment installed at data centres, healthcare facilities, industrial plants, and commercial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end commissioning, preventative maintenance, battery replacements, and emergency repairs on 3-phase static UPS systems, energy storage systems (ESS), and static transfer switches (STS).

  • Conduct precise electrical diagnostics, root-cause failure analysis, and system parameter modifications using dedicated service software and diagnostic tools.

  • Respond to critical breakdown calls and system alarms across customer sites in the Netherlands within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Execute firmware updates, system retrofits, and control module replacements on live, highly critical low-voltage distributions.

  • Collaborate closely with technical support teams, project management, and site end-users to provide detailed technical reports, RAMS, and customer handover documentation.

  • Participate in an on-call rotational standby schedule to guarantee 24/7 critical power availability for key accounts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Technical Background: Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electro-technology (MBO 4 / HBO or equivalent recognized trade qualification).

  • Hands-on Experience: Proven track record as a Field Service Engineer specializing in 3-phase static UPS systems (ranging from mid-tier to high-power modular systems, 10kVA to 1MVA+).

  • Certifications: Valid VCA (VCA-VOL preferred), low-voltage safety certifications (NEN 3140 / NEN 1010 or equivalent EU safety standards).

  • Languages: Business-level fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken) is required for technical site interactions and reporting.

  • Mobility: Full driving license (Category B) and willingness to travel regionally across the Netherlands, with occasional domestic/European OEM product training modules.

  • Competencies: Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, customer-facing professionalism, and the ability to work independently in high-stakes environments (e.g., live data center halls).

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive base salary tailored to experience + call-out allowances, premium overtime rates, and standby pay.

  • Fully equipped company service vehicle (with personal use options), high-end tooling, laptop, and smartphone.

  • Comprehensive OEM technical training programs directly at manufacturing facilities and technology hubs.

  • Generous holiday allowance, company pension scheme, and robust health insurance support.

  • Clear career progression pathways into senior technical specialist, project commissioning, or service engineering management roles.
