Aircraft Structures Technician

Aircraft Structures Technician required to work for a leading aerospace and defense company.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an Aircraft Structures Technician, performing various tasks including:

  • Structural assembly and modification of aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming operations.
  • Aligning parts, assemblies and aircraft structures using fixtures, jigs and templates.
  • Installing fasteners including rivets and hi-locks.
  • Completing structural installations in accordance with engineering drawings and technical publications.
  • Carrying out repair, refinishing and corrosion prevention activities.
  • Measuring and inspecting components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Verifying workmanship and quality in accordance with company quality procedures.
  • Supporting aircraft modification and depot maintenance activities.

Mandatory Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of aircraft structural maintenance, modification or repair experience.
  • Experience performing depot-level structural installations and repairs on large military cargo aircraft or commercial equivalents.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals and technical publications.
  • Experience with aircraft structure assembly and repair techniques.
  • Experience installing aircraft fasteners including rivets and hi-locks.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Must possess own tools in good working order.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Desirable Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Licence.
  • Previous military aviation experience, particularly on C-130 aircraft.
  • Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Additional industry certifications.
