Can you turn electrical engineering knowledge into solutions customers trust—and projects you can win?

We’re recruiting for a Senior Technical Sales Engineer on behalf of an established international specialist in electrical safety, monitoring and power network resilience.

This is an opportunity to influence how critical electrical infrastructure is designed, specified and operated. You’ll work with customers from early project concept through to order placement, helping them improve electrical safety, reliability and operational performance.

The opportunity

You’ll develop business across industrial and infrastructure markets, including energy, utilities, renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS), data centres, rail, marine, defence and nuclear.

Working with end users, consultants, OEMs, system integrators and contractors, you’ll identify engineering challenges, shape technical solutions and secure specifications that convert into sales.

The role combines technical credibility, relationship building and commercial ownership, with support from applications engineering, internal sales, service and marketing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Build and develop a pipeline of new business and major project opportunities.

  • Engage asset owners, engineering teams and consultants to influence specifications early in the design process.

  • Develop relationships with switchgear manufacturers, MCC and control panel builders, UPS manufacturers, system integrators and EPC contractors.

  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations and CPD sessions.

  • Manage opportunities through design, tender and construction, protecting specifications and securing orders.

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and account plans using Salesforce.

  • Identify emerging markets and contribute to the division’s growth strategy.

Your solution portfolio will cover Insulation monitoring, UPS, Earth fault detection, Residual current monitoring, Power quality, Condition monitoring and Critical power distribution.

What you’ll bring

  • An HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience in technical sales, applications engineering or business development.

  • A strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and power distribution.

  • Experience selling or specifying electrical products, systems or solutions.

  • Confidence engaging consultants, contractors and end users, with the ability to explain technical value and influence decisions.

  • Commercial awareness, project sales experience and a proactive approach to developing business.

  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Experience with switchgear, protection systems, UPS, MCCs, control systems or electrical monitoring technologies would be particularly relevant. Sector experience in one or more of the markets above would be an advantage.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonus.

  • Car allowance or company vehicle.

  • Home-based working with nationwide customer engagement.

  • Pension, private healthcare and life assurance.

  • Professional development and career progression within an international group.

  • The opportunity to help shape a growing industrial division and become a trusted technical partner to customers.
