Project Engineer – Aviation / Aerospace

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join an established aviation and aerospace organization supporting aircraft modification, maintenance, engineering, and technical projects.

The successful candidate will manage engineering projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable aviation regulations and industry standards.

This role will work closely with engineering, maintenance, production, quality, and management teams to develop practical technical solutions and successfully deliver aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage aviation and aerospace engineering projects from initiation through completion.

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.

  • Coordinate engineering activities with maintenance, production, quality, and other departments.

  • Review aircraft drawings, technical data, engineering documentation, and modification requirements.

  • Support aircraft modifications, structural projects, repairs, installations, and other engineering activities.

  • Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.

  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable Transport Canada, FAA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Support certification and approval activities for aircraft modifications and repairs.

  • Assist with cost estimates, project quotations, and technical proposals.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and engineering records.

  • Provide technical support to maintenance and production teams.

  • Participate in customer and internal project meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience within the aviation or aerospace industry.

  • Engineering degree or diploma in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Proven experience managing engineering or aircraft modification projects.

  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, systems, maintenance, or modifications.

  • Ability to interpret aircraft drawings, manuals, technical data, and engineering documentation.

  • Knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA, or other aviation regulatory requirements.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency with engineering and project management software.

  • Experience with aircraft modifications, STCs, repairs, or certification projects is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • Must be able to successfully complete applicable background and security screening.

  • Must be willing to work on-site at an aviation facility in Muskoka, Ontario.

  • Own transportation is preferred due to the location.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project requirements.
