Project Director - Transmission

Are you a proven leader in the power industry looking to drive major infrastructure projects?

Our client are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Transmission) to lead multidisciplinary project teams delivering critical power and grid infrastructure. In this role, you will hold full end-to-end accountability—managing budgets, project scope, health & safety, subcontractor performance, and client relationships to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Leadership & Team Delivery: Lead, mentor, and build high-performing project teams, managing resource hiring, site inductions, and ongoing performance management.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee complete project lifecycles from inception through to completion, ensuring strict compliance with technical, safety, and operational standards.

• Commercial & Financial Control: Manage project P&L, evaluate subcontractor invoices, drive commercial delivery, and minimise additional works while maximizing profit margins.

• Supply Chain & Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, holding them accountable to strict time, cost, safety, and quality metrics.

• SHEQ Management: Champion Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance (SMS/EMS) across all project activities, maintaining zero-compromise H&S standards.

• Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the primary client interface, attending key programme reviews and building lasting client relationships.

• Education & Credentials: Degree in an engineering/relevant discipline + recognised Project Management Accreditation (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, PMP).

• Industry Experience: Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role within the power generation, transmission, or distribution sector.

• Commercial Acumen: Strong background in commercial management, P&L responsibility, and contractual SLA/KPI delivery.

• Operational Leadership: Proven ability to manage site teams, subcontractors, and complex project workflows right first time.

• Mindset: A proactive self-starter, solution-focused, with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
