MEL Specialist

Contract: Permanent
Schedule: Standard Office Hours

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Follow-Up Manager, the MEL Specialist is responsible for: 

  • Track and coordinate all deferred defects with MRO providers, with a focus on MEL and CDL items.
  • Ensure troubleshooting activities are initiated at the earliest opportunity with line stations and maintenance providers.
  • Coordinate defect rectification and closure with Supply Chain, Repair, Logistics, Production Planning & Control, MCC, and MRO teams. 
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to the Technical Operations Manager.
  • Participate in daily production meetings. 
  • Analyse deferred and repetitive fleet defects using maintenance and reliability systems to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive solutions through procurement activities, procedural improvements, and OEM escalation when required. 
  • Liaise directly with aircraft and equipment manufacturers to resolve recurring technical issues. 
  • Manage deferred maintenance items including MEL, CDL, NSRE, HIL, MCC Defects, and ARCA. 

Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Aeronautical Maintenance.
  • Previous experience within a Part CAMO and/or Part-145 environment. 
  • Strong understanding of MEL management, deferred defects, and continuing airworthiness processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard IT systems. 
  • Experience using maintenance ERP and reliability management systems is preferred.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of working independently. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Professional English proficiency (minimum B2 level).
  • Fluent French language skills required.
  • Valid driving licence and eligibility to obtain an airport airside pass.
