Key Responsibilities

Equipment Fitting & Installation: Safely position, assemble, and mount HV switchgear, power transformers, Ring Main Units (RMUs), busbars, and protection/control panels.

Containment & Preparation: Fit HV/LV containment structures, cable trays, and support frameworks; assist with heavy cable positioning, glanding, and surface prep.

Schematic Reading: Interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout schematics, and complex electrical engineering drawings accurately on site.

Safety & Compliance: Operate strictly under High Voltage Safety Rules, Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), RAMS, and statutory UK power regulations.

Quality Assurance: Execute pre-commissioning checks, assist test engineers, and maintain strict quality control records.
What We're Looking For

Experience: Proven background as an HV Electrical Installer, Electrical Fitter, or Substation Technician within power distribution, utilities, or renewable connections.

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Electrotechnical Technology (or time-served apprenticeship).

Valid ECS / CSCS Card.

City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition) is highly desirable.

Safety Rules: Strong working knowledge of HV Safety Rules (prior Competent Person (CP) or Authorised Person (AP) status preferred).

Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility for site travel across the UK.
