Electrical Fitter – HV/LV Power Distribution

Location: Sheffield, with travel to projects across the UK
Job type: Full-time, permanent

We’re looking for Electrical Fitters to join an established power distribution contractor. You’ll work on a mix of projects for industrial customers in South Yorkshire and installation and maintenance work at sites across the UK.

The work centres on HV and LV transformers, switchgear and associated power distribution equipment. It’s a hands-on role for someone who enjoys varied site work and takes pride in doing the job safely and properly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Off-loading, assembling and installing transformers and switchgear.

  • Installing HV and LV cables, containment and associated equipment.

  • Terminating LV power and control cables where qualified and authorised to do so.

  • Supporting planned maintenance, testing and fault finding on power distribution equipment.

  • Working under site safety documentation and the direction of an AP, SAP or suitably qualified technician where required.

  • Completing risk assessments, test records, maintenance reports and site paperwork.

What we’re looking for

  • Practical electrical fitting or installation experience in power distribution, industrial electrical work or a closely related field.

  • Experience working with transformers, switchgear or HV/LV cable systems.

  • A time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.

  • A sound approach to site safety and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel for UK project work.

UK driving licence is essential.
