Avionics / Electrical Engineer required to work for a leading aerospace engineering and aircraft certification organisation.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an Avionics / Electrical Engineer, performing various tasks including:

  • Design, develop and integrate aircraft electrical and avionics systems for modification and certification programmes.
  • Produce engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, installation drawings and certification reports.
  • Support STC, aircraft modification and interior completion projects across fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms.
  • Perform electrical load analysis, system integration studies and compliance assessments.
  • Develop engineering solutions in accordance with Transport Canada, FAA and EASA regulations.
  • Review aircraft wiring installations and ensure compliance with approved engineering data.
  • Support aircraft testing, troubleshooting and validation activities.
  • Liaise with customers, operators, OEMs and regulatory authorities throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide technical support to production, installation and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and project planning activities.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and to the required quality standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years of aerospace engineering experience within avionics, electrical systems or aircraft modifications.
  • Experience producing aircraft electrical design documentation and installation drawings.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, avionics architecture and wiring installations.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA and/or EASA certification requirements.
  • Experience using electrical design and CAD software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics and aircraft manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

Desirable Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or working towards certification.
  • Experience supporting STC development and aircraft certification programmes.
  • Knowledge of EWIS requirements and aircraft electrical load analysis.
  • Experience with business aviation, regional aircraft or helicopter modification programmes.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA or equivalent design tools.
  • Previous experience working directly with regulatory authorities.
  • Project management or project coordination experience.
  • Bilingual English and French language skills.
