The successful candidate will work as a CNC Turner / Sliding Head Setter Operator, performing various tasks including:

• Setting and operating CNC lathes and sliding head (Swiss-type) machines.
• Producing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Selecting, installing and adjusting tooling.
• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and making programme or offset adjustments where required.
• Ensuring components meet quality and customer requirements.
• Maintaining machinery, tooling and a clean, safe working environment.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop.

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
• Competent using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.

• Previous experience with Sliding Head / Swiss-Type CNC lathes.
• Experience with Citizen, Star, Tornos, Hanwha or similar machines.
• CNC programming experience.
• Engineering apprenticeship or recognised machining qualification.
• Experience producing components for aerospace, defence, medical or high-precision manufacturing sectors.
