Role Summary

The Engine Mechanic is responsible for carrying out maintenance, disassembly, assembly, inspection, and repair activities on commercial aircraft engines within a production and overhaul environment. The role requires adherence to approved maintenance data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements while supporting the efficient delivery of engine shop operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure engines and engine modules are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Engine Maintenance Activities

  • Perform engine disassembly and assembly activities in accordance with approved maintenance documentation.
  • Carry out inspection, repair, and replacement of engine components and modules.
  • Support engine overhaul, repair, and production programmes.
  • Interpret and follow OEM manuals, technical publications, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Identify defects and discrepancies and report findings through established procedures.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with regulatory, quality, and company requirements.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with all aviation safety regulations and company quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and associated documentation.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Assist in achieving production targets and turnaround time objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engine shop environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of two years' aircraft engine maintenance experience following completion of formal training or apprenticeship.
  • Hands-on experience working on CFM56 engine products.
  • Experience within an engine shop, overhaul, repair, or production environment.
  • Good understanding of aviation maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Desirable

  • Experience working on CFM56 engine programmes.
  • Previous experience within a commercial engine MRO environment.
  • Familiarity with engine module repair and overhaul processes.
