About the Role

VHR is recruiting on behalf of a leading aircraft seating design and manufacturing company for an experienced Certification Engineer to join their engineering team in Europe.

The role will be responsible for supporting the certification of aircraft seating products, ensuring compliance with applicable EASA, FAA, OEM and aviation regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop certification plans and test plans for aircraft seating products.

  • Prepare certification reports and technical compliance documentation.

  • Support static and dynamic testing, design conformity and aircraft installation/integration.

  • Identify and manage certification risks throughout product development.

  • Develop technical solutions to certification issues and prepare supporting analyses.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, customers, OEMs, test laboratories and aviation authorities.

  • Participate in customer and technical meetings.

  • Support certification activities from product development through to final approval.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Several years' experience in aviation product certification.

  • Strong knowledge of EASA certification requirements; FAA knowledge is advantageous.

  • Experience working with aviation OEMs or aerospace suppliers.

  • Experience with certification testing and technical reporting.

  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Aircraft seating or cabin interiors experience is highly desirable.

  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.
