Role: Technical Battery Specialist

Location: UK / Hybrid

My client is driving the transition toward intelligent, decentralized clean energy. We specialize in high-efficiency solar microinverters, energy storage systems, and smart energy management solutions. As they expand their energy storage footprint across the UK and Europe, they are seeking a Technical Battery Specialist to serve as the resident subject matter expert for their cutting-edge battery technology.

The Role

As the Technical Battery Specialist, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering and commercial delivery. You will serve as the primary technical anchor, ensuring our customers and partners receive optimal, high-performing energy storage solutions tailored to their needs. Beyond commercial support, you will act as a brand ambassador by delivering engaging training sessions and presenting in industry webinars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial & Sales Engineering Support: Act as the technical authority during pre-sales and post-sales discussions. Work alongside the sales team to analyze customer requirements, answer complex technical queries, and design tailored battery and energy storage system (ESS) solutions.

  • Product Training & Enablement: Develop and deliver comprehensive training modules for internal sales teams, distributors, installers, and system integrators to ensure thorough understanding of the companies battery products and installation protocols.

  • Thought Leadership & Webinars: Host and participate in technical webinars, live product demonstrations, and industry panel discussions to elevate market presence and educate the broader energy sector.

  • Customer & Installer Guidance: Provide expert advice on system sizing, battery management systems (BMS), inverter compatibility, grid compliance, and safety standards.

  • Feedback Loop: Collaborate closely with product management and R&D teams to channel market insights, installer feedback, and technical requirements into future product enhancements.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Solid background in battery technology, energy storage systems (ESS), lithium-ion chemistries, and integrated solar/storage architectures.

  • Commercial Mindset: Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into practical, value-driven solutions for clients and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Communication Skills: Confident public speaker with experience delivering webinars, customer presentations, or formal technical training sessions.

  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot technical challenges and recommend optimal system designs under tight schedules.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of UK and European electrical codes, battery safety standards, grid interconnection regulations, and renewable energy trends.
