Aircraft Avionics Technician

Aircraft Avionics Technician required to work for a leading aerospace and defense company.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an Aircraft Avionics Technician, performing various tasks including:

  • Installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems and components.
  • Routing, terminating and securing aircraft wiring installations.
  • Performing aircraft modification, upgrade and maintenance activities.
  • Diagnosing avionics faults and carrying out corrective actions.
  • Maintaining tooling, test equipment and technical manuals.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and customer-supplied technical data packages.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to FAA, FCC, DoD and company requirements.
  • Completing required maintenance documentation and status reporting.
  • Supporting depot-level and field-level modification programs.

Mandatory Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of avionics maintenance, modification or installation experience.
  • Experience working on C-130 aircraft or commercial equivalents.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications.
  • Advanced avionics installation and wiring skills.
  • Experience with wiring repair, soldering and crimping techniques.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 Quality Management System environment.
  • Ability to complete technical documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and safety-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Desirable Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Licence.
  • Military avionics experience, particularly on C-130 aircraft.
  • Personal toolbox and required tooling.
  • Strong organisational and computer skills.
  • Additional avionics certifications.
