Aviation Compliance Manager - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

VHR is partnering with a prestigious client in Saudi Arabia to recruit a highly experienced Aviation Compliance Manager. This strategic role offers the opportunity to play a leading part in ensuring operational compliance across all departments of a major aviation organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing regulatory adherence and maintaining alignment with international standards in flight operations and maintenance.
Position Overview:
The Compliance Manager will be accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of regulatory compliance frameworks. This includes interpreting and applying evolving civil aviation legislation and maintaining robust internal processes. The role also involves active engagement with authorities and internal stakeholders to guide and enforce best practices that uphold safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead the design and execution of departmental policies and processes to meet regulatory and procedural standards
Manage daily operations of the Compliance Department to ensure efficiency and alignment with strategic objectives
Analyze current aviation regulations and standards to assess their effectiveness and relevance to company operations
Communicate regulatory changes and recommendations to internal departments
Liaise with national and international aviation regulatory authorities, providing interpretation and compliance guidance
Maintain and update the Quality Manual, including policies, procedures, and instructions
Ensure the Quality Management System remains effective through scheduled reviews and updates
Produce comprehensive reports to meet both departmental and organisational standards
Support health, safety, and environmental best practices in alignment with corporate policies
Play a key role in supporting the strategic direction of the organisation
Leadership & People Management:
Conduct performance evaluations and mentor direct reports to foster growth and accountability
Promote time efficiency and quality standards within the team
Monitor market and regulatory trends, advising senior management accordingly
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, or a related field
Possess a valid GACA (or FAA/EASA) Pilot or Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings (minimum 7 years holding)
Qualified Lead Auditor is preferred
At least 7 years of experience in flight or maintenance operations, including 3 years in a leadership role
Minimum 4 years of direct experience in an aviation compliance function
Extensive knowledge of international aviation regulations including GACA, FAA, EASA, ISO, ISBAO, and IOGP standards
Proven understanding of aircraft maintenance laws, inspection procedures, and reporting protocols
Strong background in Safety and Quality Management Systems
